When it comes to teaching a person to become an approved driving instructor you need good instructor training, there are many that would like to become a driving instructor due to the freedom of being self employed and the income you can achieve but good instructor training is not so easy to find. We will make it a lot easier for you.
There are many instructor courses out there that make the job sound so simple yet so many fail the tests, but being taught the driving instructor course by a grade six instructor with over 14yrs experience and a well established driving school for learners will make it easier for anyone wishing to become a good driving instructor, the skills to become an approved driving instructor will require a high standard of driving ability and a sound knowledge of the subjects related to teaching others to drive.
Teaching others to drive includes knowledge about:
* how to teach
* how people learn
* how to assess the performance of others
* communication
* interpersonal skills
You must have held a full driving license for 4 out of the last 6 years.
Not been disqualified in the last 4 years,and must be a fit and proper person.
The Driving Standards Agency does carry out a full enhanced disclosure (CRB) check on your background, minor traffic offences may not count, you could be allowed up to 4 points on your license.
The qualification examination is in three parts, they are a computer based theory test, practical test of your driving ability, and a practical test of your ability to instruct. You must take and pass all three parts of the examination in this order and must complete the whole examination within two years of passing the theory test.
If you are unable to complete the examinations within this time you must start again from the beginning and pass each part.
